"What show is right for my event?"

I think everyone has a certain image in their mind when they think "magician". Some people think of rabbits and top hats, others think of tattooed tough guys, and there are those who think of David Copperfield with hair blowing in the wind. But despite the different images, people still think of the same types of tricks from all of them: make stuff disappear, create some balloon animals, and "make my wife disappear" (please stop asking us to do that).
The truth of the matter is that there are different types of magicians for different events. Some specialize in children's shows, others work for corporate and business professional audiences, and some just do close-up magic. The key is to find the right magician for the right event.
First of all, if you contact me to do an event and I know I'm not the right fit for it, I will suggest another magician who is if I know one. I have no problem helping you find the right entertainment for an event and I'd rather do that than show up and disappoint anyone. That means you can tell me whatever you have coming up and one way or another I'll do my best to help you entertain your group with someone!
But just keep in mind what you are looking for. I do dozens of school shows each year, but I don't do kid's birthday parties. That is, believe it or not, a completely different type of thing (but I can point you to some amazing kid's party magicians, so contact me). I have a friend who does a ton of kid's parties every year, but doesn't do corporate work. I have another friend who is an incredible close-up magician but doesn't have a stage show for larger groups. And then there is my amazing friend who has been on television doing the really big illusions, but doesn't do any close-up at all.
It may sound strange that magic can be so varied, but think about medicine. Some doctors specialize in one area or another, while there are those who are general practitioners and do everything. Magicians are much the same way (on a much smaller pay scale).
If you have any questions, I'm here to help. If I can't handle your event, chances are I know someone who can. Just because we don't work together in one event doesn't mean we can't work together in another in the future! The goal is to make sure your guests have the time of their life!
